ONLINE GIVING
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Online giving is the ability to give a donation, or schedule recurring donations, using your credit card or bank account by using the giving web page form on firstpcmonckscorner.com under “Giving.”
It makes it easy to give and fulfill stewardship commitments, even when you are unable to attend church. You never have to bring cash or checks to church. Giving electronically also helps the church save money and plan its budget.
Depending on which is more feasible for your situation, you can handle tithing with a fluctuating income in a couple of different ways. Some people choose to give exactly one-‐tenth of their earnings for each individual pay-‐period. Others estimate their total earnings for the year and give a portion of the total tithe each week or month throughout the year.
Used within the parameters, debit and credit cards can be an efficient tool for payments and purchases. Many people utilize them in place of checks or cash throughout the month, and then pay off the balance in full. For these people, we offer the option of using a debit or credit card to give. We strongly discourage those who have ongoing credit card debt from exercising this option.
Scripture doesn’t use the literal terms “net” or “gross.” It’s more important to note that the spirit in which we give is of greatest value to God. He tells us in 2Corinthians 9:7 that “each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give; not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
You can still participate in the offering during the service by reflecting on the message of the song or media that is being presented.
FPC pays fees for each transaction. When you are determining whether to give via a credit card or ACH/checking account, please keep in mind that the processing fees associated with credit cards are higher for the church than with ACH transactions directly from a checking account. In either case, you may choose to increase your gift to cover the fees incurred.
Signing up for a giving account is not necesssary. However, having an account will make it easier to manage any changes to your information or to make changes to any recurring donations you may have set up. See our Giving page on this website.
Most web browsers will work. However, the online giving experience is optimized for Google Chrome. Some features may not work properly within Internet Explorer.
You will probably love the convenience of online giving. However, if you choose to stop using it, you can cancel it via your Breeze account or you can simply contact the church office to have any recurring gifts stopped.
You have two ways to set up your recurring gift. You can set it up via our website's Giving page or via the Breeze Site here. After setting up your recurring gift, you will be able to see the details from within Breeze.
All details of your giving and recurring donations can be managed from within Breeze. You can log into your Breeze account to make changes to your recurring donation(s), your directory entry and other information related to you. Alternatively, you may contact the church office.
Once you complete the online registration form, the contribution amount you specify will automatically be transferred from your bank account to the church's bank account.
Through the donor dashboard, you may cancel the current schedule and create a new one. You may also adjust the payment method via the dashboard if your card expires, you change financial institutions, or just want to use a different method.
For your convenience, you may use a credit or debit card or a checking account via ACH to give online. However, using a checking account via ACH has the lowest cost to First Presbyterian of Moncks Corner for processing your gift. Because of this, we encourage you to use ACH/checking account as your online giving choice whenever possible.
Since your contribution is made at a pre-established time, you simply record it in your check register on the appropriate date. Electronic contributions are recorded for you on your bank statement as well as your online reports.
Your bank statement and the Online giving system both provide reports that document your electronic transactions.
